The Philosophy of Feralism
A conceptual revolution towards a conscious rewilding of humanity
Feralism is more than a movement – it is a philosophical, political, and practical revolution offering a global response to contemporary crises by questioning the paradigm of Artificiality.
Our Worldview
At the heart of Feralism lies a radical analysis of the human condition and its entanglement with Artificiality, offering a coherent framework for understanding current crises and building viable alternatives.
Artificiality and Its Consequences
We identify Artificiality as the structural root of contemporary problems. This concept encompasses all artificial systems that disconnect us from our deep nature and our bond with the Earth's ecosystem.
Artificiality manifests through environmental pollution, nutritional degradation, declining health, and the gradual erosion of individual freedoms. These are not malfunctions, but the direct and inevitable consequences of long-standing processes.
Today, we live in artificial structures that deprive us of a genuine experience of life. This disconnected lifestyle weakens us, fosters dependency on machines, and destroys the ecosystem of which we are a part.

The Feral Return: A Third Way
The term "Feral" refers to a once-domesticated animal returning to a wild state. Our approach is not a step backward, but a reorientation toward a wildness enriched by the experience of Artificiality.
Feralism is neither nostalgic primitivism nor technological escapism. It is a third path that seeks to reintegrate humans into natural dynamics while preserving the positive learnings of our historical journey.
To become feral again means to reconnect with our true nature – the only condition that ensures human flourishing and natural balance. It is a conscious transformation reconciling humans with their essence and environment.
Genesis of the Movement
Feralism emerged from a convergence of critical analyses, field experiences, and transdisciplinary research aimed at uncovering the root causes of systemic crises.
Initial Formulations
Foundational concepts emerged through writings and discussions among independent researchers.
Theoretical Structuring
The conceptual framework of Feralism was formalized, including the first manifestos defining Artificiality and the feral proposition.
Organizational Foundation
The Feralism movement was officially constituted with organizational structures rooted in feral governance principles.
Platform Launch
A collaborative platform was developed, including the Feral Wiki, the Academy, and community tools.
Network Expansion
An ethical marketplace and livable communities were launched, expanding the movement internationally.
Today
The movement continues to grow through new initiatives and ongoing conceptual refinement.
Our Philosophical Pillars
Feralism rests on foundational principles that structure our worldview and our approach to transformation.
Rewilding
A process of reconnecting with our deep nature and natural dynamics, involving a transformation of lifestyles, practices, and mindsets.
Relational Autonomy
A balance between individual independence and collective interdependence, recognizing that true freedom arises within conscious relationships.
Dynamic Cyclicity
An embrace of natural cycles as an organizational model, countering the linear growth logic of Artificiality.
Integrative Awareness
A holistic understanding that reconciles intellect and intuition, science and sensitivity, reason and spirit.
Shared Abundance
An economic vision based on the creation and distribution of sufficient resources for all, replacing artificial scarcity and accumulation.
Appropriate Technology
The conscious use of tools and systems that enhance our autonomy and connection, rather than foster dependence and disconnection.
Our Organization
Feralism is embodied in an innovative organizational structure, inspired by natural systems and designed to promote autonomy while ensuring collective coherence.
Governance Principles
-
Consensus
Our decision-making approach is based on collective deliberation processes that seek agreement rather than simple majority voting, with mechanisms adapted to different scales and types of decisions.
-
Organic Structure
A flexible organization that evolves according to needs and contexts, structured in interconnected thematic and functional circles rather than a rigid hierarchy.
-
Transparency
All decision-making, budgetary, and operational processes are documented and accessible to members, creating an environment of trust and shared responsibility.
-
Meritocracy
Responsibilities are assigned based on demonstrated skills and effective contributions, with a recognition system that values all types of contributions to the movement.
-
Circular Economy
An internal economic model that ensures the viability of the movement while fairly compensating contributions, creating a virtuous circle where each activity strengthens the entire ecosystem.
Economic Model & Structure
-
Philosophical & Political Foundation
First and foremost, we are a philosophical and political movement with an idealistic goal: to encourage the rewilding of human beings by promoting practices and knowledge related to natural living, and by raising public awareness through conferences, publications, social media content, public screenings, and various events.
-
Ethical Marketplace
Our project includes a commercial dimension through an intermediation system with external providers of goods and services, selected according to our specifications. These providers choose to sell through our online platform and contribute a 5% commission on their turnover. We function as a quality label for these professionals, ensuring alignment with feral values.
-
Community & Academy
We operate a community server accessible by monthly subscription, offering training, useful information, and exchange spaces. This provides both value to our members and sustainable funding for the movement.
-
Team Structure
We employ team members to ensure the development and operations of the association. While committee members perform their governance functions as volunteers, they may also hold paid positions for other essential operational roles, with compensation aligned to market rates.
-
Investment of Funds
Funds collected are invested in: acquiring land to develop communities and experiment with human life in natural settings, financing scientific research, publishing books, organizing workshops and conferences, and supporting the general needs of the association.
-
Business Incubator
We are developing an incubator component to support the creation of entrepreneurial projects aligned with our values, fostering an ecosystem of feral businesses that contribute to the movement's vision.
Economic Benefits of Membership
Feralism offers multiple pathways for members to generate income while contributing to the movement's vision.

Explore our answers to the most common questions about Feralism and our vision for transformation.
No, Feralism is not a nostalgic return to an idealized past. It is an advance toward a new paradigm that integrates the lessons of our historical journey while renouncing the destructive aspects of Artificiality. We do not reject knowledge or appropriate technologies but promote conscious use that strengthens our autonomy and connection to the living world.
While traditional political ecology generally seeks to reform existing systems to make them more environmentally friendly, Feralism identifies Artificiality as the structural root of problems and proposes a fundamental transformation of our relationship with the world. Our approach is more radical in its analysis and more holistic in its proposition, encompassing not only the environment but also the economic, social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of human existence.
The feral transition is a gradual and adaptive process that can take different forms depending on the context. It begins with awareness and continues with concrete transformations at various levels: more direct food sourcing, sensitive reconnection with nature, practical autonomy development, participation in alternative economies, voluntary simplification, and potentially creating or joining feral communities. Our platform offers resources and connections to support each step of this journey.
While dense urban life represents an expression of Artificiality, we acknowledge that the feral transition is progressive and contextual. Many feral principles can be applied in urban settings: urban gardening, sharing communities, reconnection with the living through green spaces, direct food sourcing, autonomy skills development, etc. Some members also adopt hybrid models, living partly in the city and partly in more natural areas, creating bridges between different worlds.
Feralism recognizes that social injustices are intrinsically linked to the dynamics of Artificiality. Our vision of relational autonomy implies fair relationships between human beings and with the rest of the living world. We promote economic models based on shared abundance, participatory governance structures, and recognition of the diversity of knowledge and contributions. Social justice is not a separate domain but an integrated dimension of our transformative approach.
There are many ways to contribute to the movement: participate in discussions and share your experience on the platform, enrich the Wiki with your knowledge, offer products or services on the ethical marketplace, provide training via the Academy, take part in events or organize your own, and of course, embody feral principles in your daily life and share them with others. Every contribution, in any form, strengthens the movement and accelerates the transition to a post-artificial world.
